Final project partners' coordination meeting took place at Central Mining Institute in Katowice on 31st of May 2017. The main aspect of the meeting was concerning finalization of project deliverables and schedule for good preparation of final report.

In the afternoon we visited The Guido Mine and Coal Mining Museum at Zabrze (http://www.muzeumgornictwa.pl/), which was a great possibility to discuss differences in mining experiences and possibilities of post-closure activities.

Final Conference in Katowice

The closing conference of the LoCAL project took place on 1st of June 2017 at Central Mining Institute in Katowice. Almost 70 people participated in the conference, including representatives of all partners' institutions (from UK, Spain and Poland), representatives of mining sector from Silesia region, representatives of companies dealing with water technologies from Silesia Region and Czech Republic and other interested stakeholders.
An international group of experts – LoCAL project partners – presented their experiences concerning use of different technologies for extracting heat from mine waters with recommendations for their application and perspectives supported by examples of implementations. Additionally, interactive tools developed within the project were presented. Short training courses were also conducted on their use. The tools are shown and explained in the "toolbox".

Last Project Partners Meeting

The 7th semi-annual meeting of LoCAL Project will take place on 31^st of May 2017, the day before of official final conference of the project. (Agenda of the meeting)

The day after official conference, all partners and guests are welcome to site visit to Armada Development S.A. – on pilot action site in Bytom.

LoCAL Final Conference

On behalf of the Central Mining Institute, we would like to invite all people interested in the topic of mine water heat recovery, to the closing conference of the LoCAL project. The conference will present technologies for extracting heat from mine waters with recommendations for their application, conclusions, experiences and perspectives supported by examples of implementations, as well as interactive tools developed within the project. The lectures will be delivered by an international group of experts – LoCAL project partners.

The conference will be held at the premise of Central Mining Institute in Katowice, Poland. The conference will be conducted in Polish and English (with simultaneous translation). Participation in the conference is free of charge.

The 6th semi-annual meeting of LoCAL Project took place on 7th – 8th of March 2017 in University of Oviedo (Escuela de Ingeniería de Minas, Energía y Materiales, Universidad de Oviedo). During the two-day meeting the project partners discussed the progress of completed and ongoing actions carried out under various Taks. Moreover, the WP Leaders summarized the work undertaken within all work packages (WP's) and the project coordinators discussed the key issues related to progress reporting within annual report for 2016. The meeting was ended with preliminary findings on the shape and content of the final conference.

The 6th semi-annual meeting of LoCAL Project will take place on 7th – 8th of March 2017 in University of Oviedo. On the first day of the meeting is planned to discuss the progress of work undertaken within all project tasks. The second day of the meeting will be devoted to discussion of formal issues related to reporting period for 2016, and will also cover issues related to the preparation of the final report and the final conference closing the project LoCAL.

Nottingham workshop

Nottingham workshop - Nottingham Trent University 20.10.2016.

During workshop in Nottingham GIG team presented first fully operational draft of interactive tool for investors resulting from tasks 3.1 and 3.4. After presentation and multimedia show, how the tool works, GIG team started discussion about possible directions for upgrading the tool. Gathered feedback was used for preparing second version of tool.

The 5th semi-annual meeting of LoCAL Project will take place on 7th – 8th of September 2016 in University of Glasgow. The first day is scheduled mostly for a workshop on Task 1.2: concerning mostly results of isotope analysis in UK, Spain and Poland, as well as results of monitoring in Spain, Poland and UK, and joint work on the interpretation of monitoring results in all countries.
